Deleting your account
You can delete your account from inside the app, in three taps. It removes everything we
hold about you, and it cannot be undone.
In the app
- Open About — the ⓘ button at the top of What’s On.
- Tap Your account, then Delete account.
-
Read what will go, then tap Delete my account. That is the only
confirmation — there is no email to answer and nothing to type.
The app signs you out and returns you to What’s On with a line saying it is done. It is done
at that moment, not after a waiting period.
What gets deleted
- Your account and your email address.
- Every exhibition saved to your account, including the record of ones you removed.
- The date your account was created.
That is everything we hold, and all of it goes in one step: the account and everything
attached to it are removed together, so there is no state in which the account is gone but
your saves are not, or the other way round. If the deletion fails part way, nothing is
deleted and the app says so — you can simply try again.
What stays, and for how long
-
Shows saved on your phone stay on your phone. They are stored on the
device and were never ours. The app tells you this before you confirm. To remove those as
well, delete the app.
-
Our database host keeps routine backups for a limited time. Supabase,
which hosts our database in Singapore, takes its own backups of the whole database. We
cannot edit those, and we never restore an individual account from them; your data drops
out as they are rotated.
-
Short-lived technical logs. The servers that deliver the app’s data and
the provider that emails sign-in codes each keep a delivery log for a short time, as any
server does. Those logs are not something we look up people in and they expire on their
own.
If you no longer have the app, write to
hello@kanart.app from the address you signed in with
and ask us to delete your account. You do not have to give a reason. We will confirm when
it is done — usually within a couple of days. If you write from a different address we
will have to ask you to send it from the right one, because it is the only way we can tell
it is yours.
If you just want to sign out
Signing out is on the same account screen and deletes nothing — your saves stay in your
account and come back when you sign in again. Deleting the account is the permanent one.
