You can use Kanart without telling us anything. If you choose to sign in, we learn your email address and which shows you saved. That is the whole list.
Nothing leaves your phone. Browsing, searching, filtering and saving all happen on the device. We do not have an account for you, so there is nothing for us to attach anything to.
Shows you save are stored on the phone itself. If you delete the app, they are gone, and we never had a copy.
If you allow it, the app uses your location to show how far away each exhibition is and to sort by what is nearest. It is worked out on your device and never sent to us. We do not store it, we do not log it, and we could not tell you where you have been.
If you refuse, the app works. Distances simply are not shown, and the neighbourhood name does the same job.
Signing in is optional and exists for one reason: so your saves appear on your other phone.
What we then hold:
These are ordinary web requests your device makes, not data we collect — but you should know they happen, because those servers see your device's IP address the same way any website you visit does.
tiles.openfreemap.org) when
you open the map.
Accounts and saves are stored with Supabase, on servers in Singapore. We keep them until you delete your account, at which point they go — the account, the email address, every save and every removal, together in one step.
Two things outlast that step, neither of which we can look you up in: Supabase’s own routine backups of the whole database, which we never restore individual accounts from and which rotate on their own; and short-lived delivery logs kept by the servers that serve the app and by the provider that emails your sign-in code, as any server keeps.
In the app: About → Your account → Delete account. One confirmation, done immediately, and it cannot be undone. Shows saved on your phone stay on your phone; delete the app to remove those too. The full details, including what to do if you no longer have the app.
Kanart is for a general audience and we do not knowingly hold data about children. There is nothing in it aimed at them and nothing that profiles anybody.
Write to hello@kanart.app. You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. It is a short list, so this is a short conversation.
If this page ever changes in a way that matters, we will say so here and date it rather than quietly editing it.
